This week was Maths week in Borrisokane CC. Students thoroughly enjoyed guessing the height in metres of two life size cardboard cutouts of famous celebrities on display in the main foyer of the school. A Treasure hunt was displayed on all the class room doors around the school. There were many numeracy based puzzles taking place in many lessons during the week. The 1st years had a quiz and poster competition,2nd years a maths friendly orienteering event during PE,3rd years a Japanese IQ test, TY’s a maths eyes competition, 5th years a human bar chart and 6th years engaged in challenging problem solving tasks.
Maths puzzles /brain teasers where taking place throughout the week in the staff room keeping the teachers engaged frequently in numeracy based activities! Winners were awarded a tasty prize before the end of lunch on the given day!
