NAPD Creative Engagement Project 11th October 2016

Borrisokane students Michael Carroll, Tegan Craig, Elena Mackey, Lorcan Tuohy and Deputy principal Suzanne McMahon travelled to the NAPD  exhibition to present and display the school’s heritage project. They received funding from the NAPD under the Creative engagement project. With this funding the school are signposting all historic buildings with bilingual wooden signs indicating their location within the map of the workhouse. Students will also travel shortly to the Portumna workhouse and have a feedback session with an expert historian. Two leaving cert students are currently writing their leaving cert history essays on the workhouse. This project also recently featured on The Nuacht on TG4.
