Borrisokane Community College School Notes
Autism Friendly Schools Pilot Evaluation Launch
We were delighted to be invited to the launch of the Autism Friendly Schools Pilot Evaluation this week. Borrisokane Community College is one of over 200 schools who participated in the evaluation. The research has shown that the project has had a very positive impact in schools. The Minister for Special Education and Inclusion Josepha Madigan was keynote speaker at the event along with the research team in Mary Immaculate College, UL and the AFS Project Coordinators. We look forward to continuing to receive our accreditation as an Autism Friendly School.

Junior Soccer
The Junior Girls travelled to Limerick on Friday to take on Thomond Community College. The opposition had plenty of experience, having been successful so far in their cup competitions. However, the Borrisokane girls produced a dominant display, winning the game 6-2 despite falling two goals behind in the opening ten minutes. While Thomond became increasingly aggressive as the game wore on, our girls kept calm and saw out the game with a level of composure that defied the fact that it was our first competitive game of the year. Fielding two completely separate XIs in each half only added to what was a fantastic result, showing what depth and talent there is in this squad. Goal scorers: Clodagh Cahalan, Darra Bourke, Maria Morris, Emma Molloy (2), Norah Larkin.
