First Year Boys
The first year boys Futsal squad competed in the County Futsal blitz on Tuesday Nov 10th.The Borrisokane boys performed excellently on the day,winning their group. On the way to the final the had outstanding victories over Thurles CBS,Carrick CBS and Nenagh College.They are pictured below with their Runners up medals after the final against the High School from Clonmel.
First Year Girls
On Thursday Nov 12th last the first year girls traveled to the Dome in Thurles to compete in the County Futsal tournament.
The girls performed remarkably well winning all their games to top the group and go into the final. The standout victories were against Presentation Thurles and the Ursuline Thurles. The Borrisokane girls also dispatched Colaiste Mhuire Thurles and Patrician College Fethard in the group stages.
In fact the squad was unbeaten all day and it took a sudden death penalty shootout to thwart the Borris girls in their attempts to land a County Futsal title. Their opponents in the final were Colaiste Dun Iascaigh from Cahir and the score was 3 all at the final whistle. The penalty shoot out still saw the sides level. The dreaded sudden death penalty shootout was the only way to separate the teams and unfortunately for the Borris girls they came out on the wrong side.
